Off air for a day or 2 with no Internet or phone, but a great couple of days all in the pictographs.
Sunset drinks at the rverfront caravan park in St George. It was quite cool.
Yvonne & I each had a turn to ride around St George in the bakers' 1917 model T ford.
Leaving St George & passing through the open cotton farming country on the way to Nindigully.
As above.
Moonie river at Nindigully.
Nindigully pub, we didn'nt stop for one of their famous giant burgers as it was only smoko.
Morning tea, Nindigully.
Yvonne on the banks of the Moonie river.

Us in front of the giant painted silos at Thallon, where we spent the night in a free camp, with toilets & hot showers supplied. So we had dinner at the pub as it was Saturday night.
Some 40ft long birds on the silos.
Yvonne in front of the silos.
Thallon is looking a little sad.
Yvonne befriended a giant wombat in Thallon.
There may only be 26 people live in Thallon but there are 26,000,000 kangaroos.
Every house yard has built in lawn mowers.
The sun sets behind the silos. We were camped directly in front of them.
Taking in the view at camp Thallon. We detoured quite a few k just to see these silos. The artists did a great job.
The rest of the camp.
Thallon sunset.
Sunrise.
Sunrise, Thallon.
Sunrise changed the colours of the silos completely.
Leaving Thallon heading toward Noondoo, thousands of kangaroos but not a single person or car travelling in either direction the whole way. There were hundreds of dead kangaroos killed by the overnight trucks.
There were plenty of sheep as well, on the unfenced roads.
A big empty dam.
The locals liked the painted silos in Thallon so much they have commisioned an artist to paint these at Noondoo 40k away.
Dirranbandi, thats about it.
Hebel, morning tea. We were in another Hebel in the USA a few weeks ago.
Hebel.
Hebel, pub.

Wow, great to see you getting around.
ReplyDeleteThose pics bring back memories of roads travelled recently however, it is a lot greener than when we went through there. Have a great time at Lightning Ridge.
